TERMS OF USE

Track authorized activity. Use every signal responsibly.

These terms set clear rules for the hosted account service, local desktop activity tracking, notifications, comparisons, and exports.

Version2026-07-22

Agreement and eligibility

The authentication screen asks you to actively acknowledge these terms and the Privacy notice before Google or email authentication becomes available. By creating an account, accessing the protected dashboard, or using the hosted service, you agree to the versions identified on those pages at that time. If you do not agree, do not continue.

You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms and must comply with the rules that apply to your location, workplace, organization, and intended monitoring activity.

Authorized use only

StatStoat is intended only for accounts and contacts you are legally authorized to monitor. A technical ability to observe a state does not create permission to do so.

You must not use StatStoat to stalk, harass, intimidate, discriminate, bypass access controls, violate privacy or employment rules, or infer communications that the observed data does not establish.

Presence overlap is not proof of communication. StatStoat compares independently observed states and does not claim that two people contacted each other.

Accounts and session security

  • Provide an email address you are entitled to use and keep account details reasonably accurate.
  • Use a unique password and protect access to devices that hold your authenticated session.
  • Use “Create account” to register and “Sign in” for an existing account. A failed sign-in does not silently create an account.
  • When email verification is required, confirm your address with the time-limited, single-use link before signing in. A resend invalidates the previous link and is subject to cooldowns and request limits.
  • Sign out immediately if you believe a session or credential has been exposed, and follow the security-reporting guidance without publishing sensitive details.
  • Do not automate registration, overwhelm authentication endpoints, or attempt to access another account.

Google sign-in is available only when Google supplies a verified email claim. A verification link is a bearer secret: do not forward it, publish it, or enter it on another site. StatStoat does not guarantee that an optional transactional message will reach a particular inbox or avoid filtering.

Access may be limited or disabled to protect the service, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a security risk.

Service and product boundaries

The website provides account access and a protected dashboard entry point. Live monitoring depends on the desktop application, your own signed-in WhatsApp Web session, and behavior controlled by an upstream service that StatStoat does not operate.

Features may stop working or require changes when WhatsApp Web, Electron, browsers, operating systems, or optional integrations change. Unsupported historical experiments are not promised as current functionality.

Independent product

WhatsApp is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. StatStoat is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Meta or WhatsApp.

Source code and hosted service

The license supplied with an authorized source distribution governs copying and distribution of that code. These terms separately govern use of statstoat.com and its hosted account service.

Your data and your responsibility

You control the contacts selected for monitoring, the destinations configured for notifications, and every export you create. You are responsible for obtaining permission, securing exported files, and deleting data when it is no longer needed.

Do not submit passwords, session tokens, phone numbers, contact history, or exploit details through any public channel. Review the Security page before reporting a vulnerability.

Availability, warranties, and changes

StatStoat is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. No promise is made that an upstream presence signal is complete, continuous, or suitable for a consequential decision.

The service, these terms, or available functionality may change as the product and its dependencies evolve. Material revisions will update the effective date on this page.

No public terms-support channel is currently advertised. Authorized repository collaborators can use the project’s private issue tracker for general, non-sensitive questions. Do not include credentials, personal data, contact history, or vulnerability details.
